Here’s to a fabulous week… and Spring being just around the corner!

On Thursday afternoon I was called and asked to be a part of the vocals on ‘We Are One.‘  Written by Michael W. Smith, Cindy Morgan and and David Mullen, all proceeds of the song will go to the relief efforts of the Haiti Disaster.  As you can imagine, I called Momma screaming that I had been asked to participate in such a worthwhile cause, with such incredbile Christian artists no less.  I arrived in Franklin at the studio at 8pm and we worked until a little after 11.  The 9 other singer/songwriters were spectacular…with voices that were almost angelic, I had to ask God, “umm, what am I doing here?”    Over a short 4 day period this song was written, tracked, produced, etc.

 Last night, I humbly stood on stage with Michael W. Smith and the other vocalists at the Disaster Relief Benefit Concert for Haiti in Liberty Hall at the Factory in Franklin, TN  to debut the song, which received a standing ovation.  Having participated in such an amazing project is definitely one the most humbling experiences I have ever been a part of… the goal of $20,000 was exceeded, with over $30,000.00 being raised!  but, with artists such as Michael W., Cindy Morgan, Nicole Mullen, Tommy Sims (who wrote “Change the World” – you know, the Eric Clapton song along with other monster hits) and many others, it was absolutely no surprise… I don’t think there was a seat left in the house.    Backstage, all I could really do was sit and stare at these artists that I have listened to for years… I accidently ran into Tommy Sims and could hardly talk when I turned around to discover it was him, lol.   awwww, nothing like being ‘starstruck’  (and embarrased by my lack of grace trying to walk)

I will continue to keep you posted on where ‘We Are One’ may be purchased and when.  More vocals are going to be added next week, so I to am anxious to hear the finished product!

Let’s please not forget about the tragedy in Haiti as the days and weeks go by.  They are a city that is hurting, and will be for many, many months to come…
